About the Area

Come discover the beautiful place on earth that is named Les Cheneaux Islands.  Les Cheneaux in French origin meaning ‘the channels’, refers to the channels of Lake Huron waters that tunnel through 36 separate islands.  This stretch of approximately 12 miles of beautiful Lake Huron shoreline host the towns of Cedarville and Hessel.

Cedarville is a community that is known for its simple living and very friendly people. Because it is located in the nestled waters with Big LaSalle island clearly in view, Cedarville hosts many spectacular views of Les Cheneaux splendor.  The quiet downtown which is within walking distance hosts a coffee shop, library, park, marina/boat launch, ice cream shop, gift shops, distillery, and restaurant/bar. Cedarville also has the oldest golf links course in the state of Michigan that was established in 1898.  Cedarville is where the local supermarket is located along with a gas station and Family Dollar. The property that is located in Cedarville is ‘Our nautical paradise’

Hessel, which is where our other two properties are located, is about 3 miles from Cedarville.  Hessel is a quaint little town with as many as 8 different islands can be seen from any lawn chair or picnic table on the lakefront.  Perfect spot for kayaking, biking, fishing, boating or any water sport of your liking. The town hosts a marina/boat launch, park, gift shops, ice cream shop, restaurant/bar, and even a culinary school with amazing cuisine choices.  Hessel also has a golf course nearby and even a casino. Famous for its annual Antique Wooden Boat Show and Festival of Arts, you will see many private boathouses with a ‘woody’ protected inside ready for a day cruise. Overall, Hessel is a quiet place with spectacular views and a truly relaxing atmosphere steeped in history.

If you’re are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, quiet, ‘get away from it all’ kind of vacation, then you are looking in the right spot.

We look forward to your stay.
